Opposition lawmakers from J&K meet Rahul Gandhi

New Delhi, Aug 21 (IANS) A delegation of opposition lawmakers from Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday met Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi here and discussed ways and means to contain the prevailing unrest in the Kashmir Valley.

The delegation was led by former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.

Speaking to media after meeting Rahul Gandhi, one of the members of the delegation said the Kashmir problem needs attention of the whole nation.

“The situation is of serious nature, the whole country should look at Jammu and Kashmir,” he said, adding that lawmakers of national opposition parties should unite to find a solution to the prevailing unrest.

The delegation met President Pranab Mukherjee on Saturday. It told the President that Kashmir is faced with a political problem that cannot be handled administratively.

    No – we don’t care as long as Police and Military put down those violence protests over death of a terrorist rat. Stop making yourself the center of everything when your state doesn’t respect India and Hindus. Yes – it is very clear to rest of India. We all know what’s going on.

    By the way, why are they meeting with leader of ’44-seats’ party? Is it because no other party will ever think of supporting those in Kashmir attacking Police and Army?? What a depressing and sad situation.
