Paedophile priest jailed in Italy

Rome, June 6 (IANS/AKI) A court in southern Italy on Monday sentenced a Calabrian priest to four years in jail for paying for sex with minors.

The court in Reggio Calabria found Father Antonello Tropea, 44, guilty of paying 20 euros for sex in his car and of possessing child pornography.

Tropea was arrested in December after highway police spotted him parked in his car with an under-age boy.

The boy said he had met Tropea on a gay online chat room and the priest had paid him 20 euros for sex.

  1. See how speedy is the Italian justice system. The priest was caught in the act of having sex with a boy in December 2015 (and paying him E. 20) and already the Court in Southern Italy has convicted him. I wish Indian Courts and the legal system was anywhere as speedy as that.

What is the Indian Law Minister, Sadanand Gowda, doing to streamline India’s archaic legal system? When he was the Minister of Railways, he took the advice of his brother, a Station Master in the Railways, before passing the budget. Further, if what I read in the media is correct, there was a scandal about his son marrying or promising to marry a model and having fun and frolic and then opting for some other lady.

These is the calibre of most of the Indian politicians. They may have been involved in frauds ranging to countless crores, but at the end of the day they have the gall to say where is the proof and it is all political vendetta.
