Peace can Prevail only if Women are Protected – Governor Vajubhai Vala
Udupi: The Karnataka Governor Vajubhai Rudabhai Vala inaugurated ‘Asare’ student’s education adoption programme to mark the golden jubilee celebrations of Kadiyali Ganeshotsava celebrations on September 8.
Addressing the gathering Governor Vajubhai Rudabhai Vala said that the Ganeshotsava programme held all over the country on the basis of the idea put forth by freedom fighter Balganagdhar Tilak is nothing but a social celebration and not a religious ceremony.
Hinduism is the religion which does not dislike or disrespect any other religion or dogma and treats all equally. ‘To live a life practising Dharma is essential’. India has sustained various invasions owing to the tolerance and religious beliefs practised among Hindus. India is a strong nation. However, our country would not attack any other country or religion, but those who attack us will not be spared.
Indians are losing courage in protecting their mothers and sisters. He reiterated that courage and manhood are essential to protect self-dignity. The Governor added that Dharma can be protected only through following the ancient Indian values which stress on truth and sacrifice. The core Indian values are diminishing from the culture and practices among Indians, he added.
The nation which respects and honours women power is the embodiment of peace and tranquillity. Peace can prevail only when women are protected and respected. The courage once upon a time Indian men possessed to protect their women folks is slowly disappearing, he said.
