PM greets people on Gurpurab

New Delhi, Nov 25 (IANS) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday greeted people of the country on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak, the founder of Sikhism.

“On Guru Nanak Jayanti, my greetings to everyone. Guru Nanak Dev’s message of service, compassion and harmony inspire eternally,” he said in a statement.

Nankana Sahib city, near Lahore, is considered the birthplace of Guru Nanak who was the first of the 10 Sikh gurus. He was born on April 15 in 1469 at Rai Bhoi Ki Talvadi.
