Pramod Madhwaraj flags off Ambedkar Habba – Jai Bheem Rally

Udupi: Ambedkar did not want the upliftment of only the Dalits but he strived for the welfare and growth of all people irrespective of caste, creed, and religion said Pramod Madhwaraj MLA Udupi and Parliamentary secretary for the Revenue department.

He was speaking after inaugurating Ambedkar Habba – Jai Bheem Rally to mark the 125 birth anniversary of Dr B R Ambekdar organized by Karnataka Dalit Sangharsha Samiti Udupi district on Thursday, April 14 at the Clock Tower.

Ambedkar fought for the rights of women. Only when the ideologies of Dr Ambedkar are followed in day-to-day life, it will be a perfect tribute to him, he added.

The Rally will be passing through Manipal, Hiriyadka, Jodukatte, Karkala, Varanga, Mudradi, Hebri, Brahmavar, Sastan, Kota, Koteshwar, Kundapur, Trasi, Nagoor, Uppunda and culminate with a public gathering at Byndoor.

Meenakshi Madhava and Sandhya Kumari Udupi CMC president and Vice president, Veronica Cornelio Chairperson KSDL, Fr William Martis, Kumarswami DySP Udupi, G Rajeshekar, Jayan Malpe, Ganesh Nergi, Manjunath Giliyar and others were present.
