Pranamya Belvai Awarded Shaikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award 2016
UAE: The prestigious 18th annual Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award ceremony concluded in a glittering and colorful function recently at the Sheikh Rashid auditorium, Trade centre.
The best and the brightest schools, pupils, teachers and even families were awarded cash prizes after being named winners of the prestigious education award.
The Award honours individuals who value their commitment and have a proven record of outstanding success in their respective educational field. The award for Distinguished academic performance has been designed to recognize academic achievements, talents, skills and leadership abilities across a variety of disciplines. Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum established this award 18 years ago.
Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Minister of Finance, gave away the awards to winners at a ceremony in the Dubai World Trade Centre.
There are four levels of the competition – international, Arab region, GCC, and UAE. Within each level, there are several categories – best education research in the Arab region, excellent teacher, an excellent student, excellent school management, best scientific innovation and even best family.
It is a proud moment to all the Mangalorean expatriates that few sparkling and young talented students have been awarded during this ceremony.
Budding talent Pranamya Prasanna Belvai , studying in Grade 5 at Kindergarten Starters School, Dubai excelled in academic performance along with multitalented curricular and extra-curricular activities, she has achieved a remarkable milestone in a variety of dance, acting, public speaking and reading.
Speaking to mangalorean.com, Pranamya said, “I am glad to make my school and family proud. I would like to thank the Award team and patron, HH sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid, for recognizing my talent and bestowing me with the award. It is truly believed that such award and accolade is required as an encouragement, which will improve self-confidence level, making them feel good about themselves and be the true asset of the society.
Pranamya is extremely confident, responsible and dependable, never missing school and carry 100% attendance record in most of the academic years and vibrant, focused and energetic. She effectively manages time/work under strict discipline and recognizes the importance of school, studies and extra-curricular activities.
The award was established in 1998 after a decree by Shaikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Minister of Finance, as a way of recognising excellence in educational performance and fostering talent.
