President greets Mali on National Day

New Delhi, Sep 22 (IANS) President Pranab Mukherjee on Thursday greeted the government and people of Mali on their National Day.

“Warm greetings and felicitations to government and people of the Republic of Mali on their National Day,” the President tweeted.

Mali, a landlocked country in West Africa, gained their independence from France in 1960.

On the eve of Mali’s National Day on Wednesday, the President had also extended his greeting to his counterpart, Ibrahim Boubacar Keita, saying he was confident that “the friendly bilateral relationship between the two countries would be further strengthened in the coming years for the mutual benefit of their peoples.”
