President greets Rwanda on National Day

New Delhi, July 3 (IANS) President Pranab Mukherjee on Friday greeted the government and people of Rwanda on the eve of its National Day.

In his message to Rwanda President Paul Kagame, Mukherjee said: “It gives me immense pleasure to convey to you and to the government and people of the Republic of Rwanda, my warm greetings and felicitations on the occasion of your National Day.”

“I am confident that the close partnership between our two countries will further strengthen in the years ahead to our mutual benefit.”

Rwanda, located in eastern Africa, won its independence from Belgium in 1962.
