BANGALORE, December 27, 2007: The KSRTC and MSRTC will increase the number of services between the two states starting from January. According to the sources in KSRTC here both Corporations will not only include new schedules between various places but also reschedule some of the routes. According to the sources the KSRTC Mangalore will ply routes from Miraj and Nasik, from Kundapur to Kolhapur, Bhatkal to Vishalgad and Sagar to Borivili in Maharashtra.
The MSRTC will run two buses from Tuljapur to Sirsi and three buses from Mumbai to Karwar. This arrangement has been agreed upon by the MSRTC and KSRTC under the spirit of a MoU signed by them.
The Mangalore- Nasik service will touch Udupi, Kundapur, Hubli, Belgaum, Nippani, Kolhapur, Satara and Pune. The services from Mangalore to Kolhapur will also take the same route but terminate at Kolhapur. The Vishalgad service from Bhatkal will touch Ankola, Haliyal, Belgaum, Kolhapur and Malkapur. The Borivili bus from Sagar will touch Sirsi, Hubli, Belgaum Kolhapur and Pune. The Mangalore -Miraj bus will touch Ankali and Kadwad.
The Mangalore Ratnagiri schedule will be extended up to Mumbai through Udupi, Kundapur, Bhatkal, Karwar, Panaji, Ratnagiri and Panvel. Since this was a long route the KSRTC would consider introducing Volvo B7R air-conditioned vehicles on this schedule.
The Mangalore Mumbai via Pune buses were already operating. The MSRTC will operate six buses from Kolhapur to Dharmasthala via Sankeshwar, Belgaum and Hubli.
