Protests in London against Modi visit

London, Nov 12 (IANS) Groups opposed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday staged protests here against his visit to Britain.

The social media platform Twitter was swamped by posts saying “Modi (is) not welcome in UK”.

Pictures on Twitter showed people gathered at Downing Street, holding placards criticising Modi, who is on a three-day visit to Britain.

One picture showed a group of Sikhs holding black flags.

There were also demonstrations by some holding Nepalese flags and carrying placards that read: “Modi, remove illegal blockade in Nepal”.
