Puttige Swamiji is Global Devotional Ambassador – Pejawar Swamiji

Udupi: “Puttige Sri Sugunendra Teertha Swamiji is the devotional ambassador who has introduced Sri Krishna to the world by erecting the idol of Sri Krishna in America”, said Pejawar Sri Vishwesha Teertha Swamiji. He was speaking after felicitating Puttige Sri Sugunendra Teertha Swamiji for the construction of Krishna Temple in New Jersey, USA in a public felicitation programme at Rajangana, Sri Krishna Math Udupi here on July 22.

 Sun rises from the East and then moves to the West and likewise, Sri Krishna’s message has reached the West. Puttige Sri Sugunendra Teertha Swamiji is credited with introducing Sri Krishna to the globe. Puttige Swamiji is an arrow of Sri Krishna which is moving over the globe, he added.

Puttige Sri Sugunendra Teertha Swamiji said,”The peace should prevail over the world, and India is the only country which can spread peace. India has not waged war against any country, India has that eligibility and responsibility of spreading peace worldwide. I have understood the relevance of Hindu religion and respect for the saffron cloth in the world. I had visited America 20 years ago on July 22 and on the same day the felicitation ceremony is organised”.

Shivarudra Swamiji of Belimatha Bengaluru said that according to Gods wish Sri Krishna has been erected in America, Puttige Sri Sugunendra Teertha Swamiji has lived up to the expectations of the Indian sages and devotees. He also said that the Sri Krishna idol should also be erected in London.

Dharmadikari of Sri Kshetra Dharamastala Dr Veerendra Heggade said, “India was known as a poor country but the devotional spirit of Indians has led the world to understand the relevance of India. Puttige Sri Sugunendra Teertha Swamiji’s work in foreign countries has led the world to respect Hindu religion and understand its importance”.

Vishwa Prasanna Teertha Swamiji of Pejawar Math, Minister in-charge District Pramod Madhwaraj, Kaup MLA Vinay Kumar Sorake, Dr Mohan Alva, CMC President Meenakshi Madhava Bannanje, Former MLA Raghupati Bhat, Suresh Shetty Gurme, Dr P V Ashok Kumar, Halekote Vishwamithra, Krishna Rao Kodancha and others were present.

Belapu Deviprasad Shetty welcomed the gathering, Baikadi Suprasad Shetty delivered the vote of thanks.

Prior to the programme, a vehicle rally was organised from Jodukatte which culminated at the Sri Krishna Math premises.
