Puttur: 3 Rehabilitated Senior Citizens who Strayed from Vamanjoor Sent back Safely

Puttur: Three senior citizens – Raju, Pakeera and Raghava – who had been found begging and were given shelter in a rehabilitation centre in Vamanjoor had reportedly strayed away from there last week.

Fellow-passengers in a train plying between Mangaluru and Puttur found their behaviour suspicious and enquired with them. They admitted to having escaped from the Vamanjoor centre. The railway personnel were informed.

Raju’s family members from Sullia taluk were summoned and he was sent away with them. Raghava and Pakeera were sent back to the centre at Vamanjoor.
