Puttur: Black Cobra Sneaks into Classroom of School in Sarve – Bitten Student Critical

Puttur: The Government Higher Primary School in Bhaktakodi of Sarve village in the taluk had a crawling visitor on Tuesday when the classes were in progress.

A black cobra had sneaked inside the VI standard room and coiled itself on the inner surface under the teacher’s chair. It was not noticed by anyone. During the second period, the teacher was engaged in recording the height and weight of students.

When a chalk piece happened to fall down from the table, one of the students, Mithun, volunteered to pick it up. The hiding cobra, apparently sensing danger to itself, leapt out and bit Mithun.

He was taken to a hospital in Puttur and later to Wenlock hospital in Mangaluru. His condition is said to be critical.
