Puttur: Body of School-girl who Drowned Traced after Nightlong Operation

Puttur: Anisha (13), a school-girl from Allangar Subhash Nagar in Nekkilady village had drowned on her way back from class while crossing a flooded stream with her younger and other friends on July 20.

Search for her had been launched by the locals. Later on, a team of diving experts from Tannirbavi, consisting of

Javeed, Imran, Mohammed Wasem and Sadiq, under the guidance of home guard officer Mansoor, got into the job.

After hours of efforts, her body was fished out of water late in the night.

It was found at a spot where the stream joins river Netravati. It was sent for a post-mortem examination to the

community hospital in Uppinangady.

Puttur tahsildar M T Kullegowda and other officials visited the spot and made investigations.
