Puttur: Ashraf from Kadaba in the taluk has complained against a female teacher at an English-medium high school about the corporal punishment meted out to 48 students on insignificant grounds.

The teacher allegedly caned all the 48 students of standard VIII so harshly that they had swellings on their hands and limbs.

The act has been caught on CCTV camera, for which reason, the said teacher has, to escape the consequences, reportedly gone to Kerala on leave, the complainant says.

Similar complaints have been submitted to the field education officer and the superintendent of police, he further says.
