Puttur: Conductor Dies after Falling off Running Bus at Uppalige

Puttur: Dharnappa Gowda (48), conductor of a KSRTC bus plying between Panaje and Puttur, accidentally fell off the bus at Uppalige on Tuesday.

He was standing near the door of the bus. Possibly because of the condition of the road, the bus received a jolt. Gowda lost physical balance and was thrown off the vehicle.

Critically injured, he was rushed to a hospital in Puttur and then to another in Mangaluru. But his life could not be saved.

A resident of Mangalapadavu near Vittal in Bantwal taluk, he was employed with the KSRTC for the last 19 years. He is survived by wife and a daughter.
