Puttur: Death of Newborn in Hospital – Family Alleges Medical Negligence

Puttur: An infant born in a hospital here on Monday had died on Tuesday.

The expectant mother from Bettampadi in the taluk had been admitted earlier and had delivered the child. Now the family members have alleged that because of the staff, some contamination in the baby’s abdomen had caused its death.

The family members arrived at the hospital and took the staff to task. The police arrived at the spot and controlled the situation.

There has been a steady instances of such ruckus being created in hospitals. A private doctor said that deaths or aggravation in the condition of a patients can be caused by the inner factors of the body and not necessarily because of the negligence on the part of the staff in every case.

There is an allegation making rounds that whenever such incidents happen, the rival hospitals try to foment trouble
