Puttur: Distressed Woman Jumps into Well at Police Station, Rescued

Puttur: Nagamma (40), a resident of Nelamangala in Bengaluru rural district, had been working in a cashew plantation in Narimogaru for some time..

On Monday, she was found sitting in front of the house of gram panchayat member Jyoti in a depressed state. As she was not communicating properly, the police were informed in the interest of her safety and getting her family contacted.

The police arrived and took her to the town police station. After some time, she got up from where she sat and suddenly went towards a well in the station compound and jumped into it.

The police with the help of the fire brigade rescued her. She has been taken to Wenlock hospital in Mangaluru for advanced attention and treatment.
