Puttur: Driver of Lorry Involved in Collision with Wedding Entourage Bus Dies

Puttur: A lorry and a bus had collided head-on at Addahole on NH 75 on Wednesday. Mahantesh, the driver of the lorry, was critically injured.

The private bus was carrying a group of J P Nagar residents from Bengaluru, who were on their way back from Dharmasthala. They formed the entourage who had attended a wedding in Shri Manjunatha temple.

After having food at the reception, the members of the both families and the bridal couple were travelling back. Over 40 persons were injured in the incident and were taken to hospitals in Mangaluru in as many passing vehicles as possible.

While Mahantesh died in the hospital, others are said to be recovering. A case has been registered at the Uppinangady police station.
