Puttur: Lorry Involved in Hit-and-Run Case at Polya Tracked down in Mangaluru

Puttur: A lorry had hit a bike at Polya on the northwestern outskirts on June and sped away from the spot without stopping.

The rider, Rohit (25) from Perne who worked as a mechanic here, had died as a result of critical injuries. Initially, it was thought to be sand-laden lorry. But verification of footage from a CCTV installed at Kabaka identified it as a container lorry.

With the help of leads received from immediate residents, the lorry was seized in Mangaluru. At the time of the mishap, it was on its way from Mangaluru to Jalsur.
