Puttur: Man’s Murder Abetted by Wife – Two Accused Denied Bail

Puttur: Jayananda of Kootkunja had gone missing on July 14 after he left home informing that he was going to visit an astrologer.

Around the end of the same month, his body was found in a forest in Peruvaje. In a joint operation, the Puttur and Sullia police cracked the murder case and arrested Jayananda’s wife and four others.

Confessions made by the accused revealed that the wife had planned the murder since she allegedly had a liaison with Dhananjaya. She is also said to have given contract money for getting rid of her husband.

Among the accused, Dhananjaya and Chintan had recentlya approached a court here for bail. Their applications have been turned down by the court.
