Puttur: Most of Silverware Stolen from Uppinangady Temple Found Dumped in Farm

Puttur: When workers were engaged in their routine of plucking weeds in a farm in Nattibail belonging to Krishna Nayak on Tuesday, a jute bag was found dumped. It was found hidden under thick grass that had grown around a water channel.

They reported the matter to the owner. On inspecting it, silverware used in temples. The police were called. Two weeks ago, they had received a complaint about the theft of silver articles used in holy rituals from Shri Lakshmi Venkataramana temple in Uppinangady.

The identity of the articles was confirmed by the adminstrators of the temple. They found about 80% of the articles intact in the bag.

A case has been registered by the police.
