Puttur: Nine Injured in Group Fight at Panchayat Election Victory Celebration at Keyyur

Puttur: Some candidates who won the recent panchayat elections and their supporters held a victory celebration at Madavu of Keyyur village on Saturday night.

As the procession which was organized as part of the celebration reached the central part of Madavu, friction erupted and two groups got into fist-fights and exchange of blows.

The fight is said to have been caused by the pre-election rivalry. Nine persons were injured in the incident and they got themselves admitted to different hospitals in Puttur.

The rural police in Sampya have registered a case.
