Puttur: ‘I had Quit Party on My Own; Expulsion out of Question’ – Syed Meera Saheb

Puttur: Syed Meera Saheb, a former Congressman now in JD(S), has clarified that he had resigned from the Congress party on Feb 9. Hence the question of his ‘expulsion’ from the party did not arise.

Speaking at a media meet, Saheb, a former zilla panchayat member, said that Kadaba block Congress president-in-charge Vijayakumar Rai had announced that he (Saheb) had been expelled from the party on disciplinary grounds for six years.

Apart from the fact that the president-in-charge had no authority to expel him, he had already resigned from the party on Feb 9.

Rai made the announcement much later. Hence it had no relevance or significance, Saheb added.
