Puttur: Stag Strays from Forest into Farm at Keyyur, Falls into Well and Dies

Puttur: A male deer was found dead in a well in a farm belonging to Babu Naik at Idyadka in Keyyur village in the taluk on Thursday morning.

There have been reports about deer often straying into the farms in the area in search of food and foliage. This deer is thought to have slipped into the unprotected well.

The farm-owner informed the forest personnel, who arrived and brought the carcass up. It was taken to the veterinary centre in Puttur. Dr Suresh conducted a post-mortem examination as required under wildlife laws.
