Puttur: Surekha Kamath (56), Ex-member of Panchayat, Dies, Suspectedly of Rat Fever

Puttur: Surekha Kamath (56), wife of Dayanand and a resident of Car Street in Uppinangady, died in a private hospital in Mangaluru on Friday morning.


She was a former member of Uppinangady panchayat. She had been suffering from fever for over a week and was being treated in the government hospital in her native town.

When it was suspected to be rat fever, she was shifted to Mangaluru. She succumbed to the ailment on Friday.

She is survived by husband and two daughters.
