Puttur: Teacher Facing Sexual Harassment Charge Suspended from Service

Puttur: District’s deputy director of public instruction (DDPI) Walter D’Mello has ordered the suspension of a teacher, who had been accused of sexual harassment to a girl student, from service, pending a departmental inquiry.

Harish, the teacher, had allegedly harassed the girl student during an excursion to Mysuru organized by a high school in Saralikatte. She had filed a complaint in the Uppinangady police station and he is now facing charges under the provisions of POCSO.

The field officer visited the school and filed a report, based on which the DDPI has taken action against the said teacher.
