The miscreants appeared to have broken into the house through the room where patients come home to get examined. Gaining access from there, they got into the next where the wardrobe was found. They broke open its door and took away away valuables worth about Rs 15 lakh, including Rs 30,000 in cash.

Puttur subdivision ASP C B Ryshyanth, town inspector Mahesh Prasad, sub inspector Abdul Qader and team visited the spot. Canine and fingerprint squads also arrived and investigated.
