Puttur: Threat to Life of Former Employee – Vinod Alva Sent to Judicial Custody

Puttur: Faced with a charge that he and his driver tried to kill his former employee, Kannada and Telugu actor Vinod Alva, was arrested by the police in the early hours of Monday.

He was produced in a court here under heavy security. While Alva’s advocate pressed for a bail application, the police also sought custody for interrogation.

Both requests were turned down by the JMFC court. Instead, he was remanded to 14 days of judicial custody. Alva’s advocate has reportedly submitted a bail application on his behalf, which may come up for hearing during this week.

The driver of the jeep, who has been accused of knocking down the two-wheeler in an apparent attempt at Sachidananda, a former employee of Vinod Alva, has been reportedly absconding. The police are on the lookout for him.
