Puttur: Two women Killed at Addahole on Newly inaugurated Shiradi Ghat

Puttur: On August 9, the district minister in-charge had inaugurated the Shiradi Ghat road and on the very next day two lives were lost in a tragic road accident a little distance away from the newly opened stretch here on August 10.

The deceased have been identified as Bhavani (39), wife of Guddappa and Rukmini (36), wife of Vishwanath, both residents of Siribagilu.

According to police, on August 10, a diesel tanker which was plying from Bengaluru to Mangaluru collided head-on into a Jeep which was moving towards Sakleshpur at Addahole on the Shiradi Ghat. The jeep driver Chandrashekar and two others injured were shifted to A J Hospital in Mangaluru, where as Vishwanath was admitted to the Community Health centre at Uppinangady.

A case has been registered in Puttur traffic police station.
