Puttur: Witness Insults Lawyer during Court Proceedings – Magistrate Orders Action

Puttur: A senior citizen, while being cross-examined as a witness by the opponent lawyer in a court here on Thursday, reportedly lost his cool and insulted him. He is also said to have passed impolite comments on the legal community outside the premises later.

When things went out of control during the hearing, the lawyer who faced the senior citizen’s ire, brought it to the notice of the magistrate in writing. However, taking cognizance of his age, the court condoned him and merely asked him to apologize.

The matter would have ended there but the man continued his tirade against the lawyers in general after going out of the court. The lawyers brought up the matter through their association. The magistrate instructed the police to take action against the person.
