Quackery! Quackery!

Quackery! Quackery!

If one wonders why the double title, I would like to clarify that it is keeping in line with the person who is supposed to have devised it- the double mister or Sri Sri Ravishankar. Adding to the number of scams already going on in our country, this is one of the latest but unfortunately old wine in a new bottle with a new label. Since the claims made by this course are the same as those of the scamsters who have been conducting workshops on Midbrain activation we presume that both are the same.

While the very same scam outlined in the brochure reproduced here which was going in the name of something called as Midbrain activation was thoroughly exposed by us and we managed to stop the cheating going on in its name all over the country to some extent, it has taken on a new title and under the shelter of an internationally ‘known’ proponent of a number of such going on under names like Sudarshan Kriya yoga, art of living etc.

Since it makes a number of wild claims. Let us examine these one by one:

Read with your eyes closed – well this is certainly wonderful. One could close one’s eyes and hold the open books and be ready with all the studies after being asleep because that it usually when we close our eyes! We would be glad to ‘close the eyes’ in a foolproof manner to check that out!

Access your intuitive abilities- it is of course a wonderful thing. All would like to have it but of course, we could do with a bit of evidence about the same. Preferably through a foolproof test which we are ready to conduct.

Develop your sixth sense – a wonderful thing indeed though there is no scientific evidence to prove that such a thing exists. We would like to have a demonstration of that to have an idea of what it is. We are ready with a foolproof test for it!

Improve your studies – Of course one has to wait for some time for it. So, we pass it over for now!

Perceive beyond your senses – We are all for it. But, would like a practical demonstration and would provide a foolproof method to test such, particularly the visual one which is the most important one for us!

A two-day workshop has been already conducted at Mangalore on 28th and 29th May, so we issue an open challenge to the organizers. In case they feel that they are not developed enough to be tested, they are welcome to bring them from outside. As far as we can see from their publicity material all they have to show for their dubious claims are that the children can read blind folded we have been doing that since time immemorial and it is a well-known magic trick. Promoting that as a course to improve one’s mental abilities is a claim that should be proved and we are ready with foolproof devices to test it. Since all these claims are well beyond the pale of the ordinary we are willing to make a suitable award for the demonstration of the same subject to various terms and conditions and a caution deposit for the other side which would be forfeited if they cannot prove their claims. They are welcome to contact us at my cell no 94482 16343. These tests can be conducted at a mutually convenient date and location in Mangalore in the presence of the media and public.

We caution the public of Mangalore not to fall for such dubious unproven claims and those who have already admitted their children to such contact us for further assistance if needed.

  1. I fully agree with author – Religion and spirituality are a big business in India and rest of the world. But, I have been waiting for him to issue similar challenges to ‘peaceful’ groups and their superstitions. I have been waiting for him to issue a similar challenge on ‘cartoons’ as some courageous folks like Pamela Geller did here in US. smiles… How long do I have to wait?
