Raghupathi Bhat not needed for our Party – Udupi District Congress

Udupi: “The State and district Congress have enough leaders, we do not need politicians like Raghupathi Bhat”, said Janardhan Tonse chief of Udupi district congress.

Janardhan Tonse was speaking at a press meet held at the Press Club on November 14, he said that recently in the social media a message of former Udupi MLA Raghupathi Bhat joining the Congress party had gone viral which is far from the truth. The Congress has been closely watching Raghupathi Bhat’s character for many years. Raghupathi Bhat is facing many charges like his wife Padmapriya death case, Rave party issue, Sex CD, De-notification and many more issues. The district Congress will never allow him to join the Congress party, he added.

Recently the BJP leaders during their Parivarthan Rally had made many false allegations against the District minister in-charge Pramod Madhwaraj. From the Last four and a half years Pramod has given a corruption-free, transparent administration in the Udupi constituency. In the last four and a half years, more than Rs 1800 crore worth developmental work has taken place in the Udupi constituency because of corruption-free, honest, transparent and active administration. The Janasamparka Sabha was held in all 35 wards of the CMC and 30-gram panchayats in Udupi Assembly Constituency. Through the Janasamparka Sabha, the public can approach the officials and sort out their problems. The public will also be updated on the ongoing development works initiated in their respective wards and gram panchayats. In his four and half year tenure, Pramod has been responsible for the overall development of his constituency and has brought development projects worth Rs 1,800 crore for Udupi Assembly Constituency. BJP is jealous of the development in Udupi constituency and is making false allegations against Pramod Madhwaraj, he added.

The BJP has been criticising Pramod Madwaraj saying that after he won the elections, he has stopped helping the poor people. Tonse said that Pramod Madhwaraj has been helping the poor people with his own money, since his father’s time they have been helping the poor. In spite of ups and downs in business, Pramod did not stop helping the poor people. The former MLA Rahupathi Bhat was giving Cement to the poor people before the elections but he has stopped it now why? he questioned. Pramod Madhwaraj is working for the development of Udupi constituency without any discrimination caste or Political Party, development is his only his goal, he said.

Udupi Block Congress president Satish Amin, Brahmavar Block President, Nityananda Shetty, CMC member Janardhan Bhandarkar, UUDA president Narasimha Murthy, and Bhaskar Rao Kidiyoor were present during the press meet.
