    Peas Pulao
    Ingredients:
     
    1 tsp. cumin seeds 
    2 garlic flakes, crushed finely 
    1 small piece of ginger, crushed finely 
    1-2 cloves 
    1 small piece cinnamon, broken into pieces 
    2-3 cardamoms 
    3 cups basmati rice –soaked in water 30 minutes before cooking 
    1 1/2 cups of frozen green peas 
    1 medium onion sliced 
    2 tblsp Olive oil 
    2 tblsp. chopped coriander leaves 
    1 tblsp. Cashewnuts 
    Salt to taste

    Method:
    Heat oil in a non-stick pan when it is hot add spices from 1-6 and fry for a minute. Add onion and the ginger-garlic paste and fry until onion turns translucent. Now add the cashew nuts and the coriander leaves and mix well. Drain the rice and fry in the mixture for 2-3 minutes. Add 4 ˝ cups of hot water. When it is half done, add peas and stir the rice well. Cover and cook on high heat until the water almost evaporates. Turn on low heat and simmer for another 5 minutes. Serve hot with chicken or beef sukka and cucumber raita.
