Retired Lecturer from Ramakunja Dies in Road Mishap near B C Road

Bantwal: Lakshminarayana Varna (63), retired lecturer at Shri Ramakunjeshwara PU College in Ramakunja, died in tragic road mishap at Ponnodi near B C Road-Kaikamba of B Muda village here on Tuesday.

He, his wife Savita and daughter Sharada were returning from Mangaluru towards home after dropping his another daughter at CA examination centre. At Ponnodi, the car hit the median and toppled. Varna was critically injured and died on the way to the hospital.

He hailed from Hanglur in Kundapur taluk and joined the school in Ramakunja in 1978 as a Sanskrit teacher. After 38 years’ service, he had retired in mid-2014.

He is survived by wife, a son and two daughters.
