Rick Ross arrested for marijuana possession

Los Angeles, June 11 (IANS) Rapper Rick Ross was arrested by police in Fayette County, Georgia.

The “Hustlin” rapper was arrested on Wednesday.

The hip-hop star, whose real name is William Leonard Roberts II, was reportedly stopped by an officer while driving his Bentley 279 due to a window tint violation. The policeman searched the car after smelling marijuana and reportedly found five joints inside the vehicle, reports aceshowbiz.com.

Ross was charged with misdemeanour, marijuana possession and a traffic violation. Fayette County Sheriff’s Office said the rapper was “very cooperative.”

Before earning fame in rap music, Ross reportedly worked as a correctional officer in Florida.

Last year in June, the 39-year-old rhymer was also taken into police custody in North Carolina after a concert for skipping a court appearance for a misdemeanour marijuana charge.
