Roma defender Rudiger sidelined

Rome, March 7 (IANS) Italian football club Roma has announced that defender Antonio Rudiger will be sidelined for around two weeks after suffering a thigh injury.

“Rudiger underwent tests earlier which have revealed a minor strain to his right thigh,” Roma said on Sunday.

“The German defender — who has made 21 appearances and scored once in the league – will be sidelined for around two weeks.”

Roma face Real Madrid in the second leg of their pre-quarterfinal tie of the European Champions League on Tuesday. They lost the first leg 0-2 here and their defence faces an arduous task of keeping the Real attackers away in Madrid.
