S M Krishna praises Modi’s foreign policies
Udupi: Senior Congress leader, former chief minister of Karnataka and former union Foreign Affairs minister, S M Krishna showered praise on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s foreign policies. He was speaking after receiving the Rastra Rathna Award given by Paryaya Shri Krishna Math at Rajangana here, on July 11.
Modi’s initiatives to improve foreign relations has yielded better results in terms of relations maintained with USA and Russia. However, the relations with China remains without a solution. The prime minister should emphasize more on the relations with China, he said.
Krishna further said, “By democratic principles one is expected to support the government in power, irrespective of personal preferences. “Preference should be limited only to elections and voting. Once a party wins the public mandate and forms the government, the people should support it in all works and initiatives.”
“Indian values are deteriorating. However, there are some attempts to safeguard these values. Casteism is a major hurdle for the overall development of society. India is running behind the caste system. The blind love towards caste and religions has resulted in poverty. The differences between people are increasing like never before,” he added.
Shri Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji of Pryaya Pejawar Math presented the award. Vishwa Prasanna Theertha Swamiji, Prema Krishna and others were present.
