Savanoor Resident Dies in Road Mishap in Saudi Arabia

Puttur: Many young persons from the coastal district have died in road mishaps in Gulf countries during the past years. Besides the loss of dear ones, in most cases the families are deprived of their sole support for livelihood, which is really sad.

Yet another life was lost in a tragic accident in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia this week. Shafi Savanoor (30), son of Abubaqer and Zuhurabi (former vice president of Savanoor panchayat) of Mantoor, was employed in Riyadh which is the capital of the country as well as of the province, for some years.

Shafi was travelling in a car and it is said to have met with a mishap on Monday. He died on the spot, according to information received by the family.

He is survived by parents, two brothers and a sister.
