Kolkata, Dec 20 (IANS) Claiming that cow protection was not linked to any religion but a necessity for its scientific and economic value, the Go Seva Parivar on Sunday launched an event here highlighting the importance of the animal in human lives as well as for the environment.
The initiative christened “Ek shaam, Go Mata ke Naam”, witnessed a unique “Selfie with Cow” campaign, and promoted shampoos, soaps, phenyl, incense sticks and fats — products derived from indigenous breed of cows.
Briefing the media, Go Seva Parivar spokesperson Lalit Agarwal said: “We started this great event from last year to create the general awareness that cow protection is not religious but scientific.
“Cow products like cosmetics and incence sticks as also the edibles are cheaper than those made from other chemicals. They are good for the health and hygienic,” said Agarwal.
He said his organisation was not connected to any political party or religion.
“We visit door to door to inform people about the importance of cow protection through the eyes of science.”
