Between the AMR dam and the Thumbay, only the Bantwal CMC and gram panchayats are allowed to draw water to supply it for drinking purposes.

The order will be reviewed after seven days depending on the prevailing situation. The commissioner of the Mangaluru City Corporation has been instructed to strictly implement the order and, if need be, police help may be obtained to ensure it.
