Shriya Saran to walk for brand Anaikka at AIFW 2016

New Delhi, March 9 (IANS) Actress Shriya Saran will walk for the brand Anaikka, headed by designer Kanika Saluja, at the Amazon India Fashion Week Autumn-Winter 2016, starting here from March 16.

“Being self-made and independent, Shriya Saran symbolises the perfect Anaikka woman. She believes in giving back to the society and works with the underprivileged through her own NGO, specially the handicapped.

“Her old school, classic Indian beauty is a perfect fit for the Anaikka Autumn-Winter 2016 collection, in which we are revisiting the the vintage, Victorian era of fashion. Shriya also reminds me of the beautiful yesteryear actresses like Meena Kumari, Madhu Bala, Nargis and Mumtaz,” Saluja told IANS.

The designer will showcase a collection titled ‘Lock, Stitch and Gothic’ under her brand Anaikka.

The collection represents an era where men were the focus of fashion, but with a queen in power, women surged to the forefront. In true Anaikka style, the collection takes you back in time, when fashion was a form of art and gives it a contemporary modern, edgy and gothic twist.

“For the first time, the brand debuts its menswear collection. The collection celebrates the heritage and essence of ‘Victorian’ fashion and showcases the beauty of amalgamating the old with the new,” said the designer.
