Siddaramaiah condoles Jayalalithaa’s death

Bengaluru: The Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has condoled the death of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Dr J Jayalalithaa.

In a message Siddaramaiah has said, “By acting in more than 140 films including Sri Shaila Mahathme, Chinnada Gombe, Amara Shilpi Jakanachari, Badukuva Daari, Mavana Magalu, Mane Aliya and Nanna Kartavya in Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi, Dr J Jayalalithaa carved a niche for herself in the hearts and minds of people. Joined All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam and served as Propaganda Secretary of the Party and was a Rajya Sabha Member. Jayalalithaa became one of the tallest personalities not merely in the Tamil Cinema, but also in Tamil Nadu Politics. Now, it’s all a history”.

When Jayalalithaa became Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu for the first time, she was the youngest Chief Minister of that State. During that time, the Baby for the Cradle Scheme, which she implemented to counter the female infanticide and save the girl child, was appreciated from all quarters. The novel concept of All Women Police Station, Women Libraries, All Women Bank was effectively implemented by Dr Jayalalithaa during her regime. She rose to become Chief Minister for four times, but she was sworn-in as Chief Minister for six times, as she had to be out of power twice.

Toughness in Administration, Strict Discipline in the Party Affairs. Pro-people and popular schemes like Amma Canteen, Amma Water, Amma Scooty created an ocean of admirers for her. All these have now created an environment in Tamil Nadu, which is not ready to accept that she is no more. This reflects her impact on the people. Though Jayalalithaa has left this World and entered into the pages of history, but, she will be remembered forever in Tamil Nadu.

Let her soul be rest in peace. Let the Almighty give strength to her huge family of millions of admirers, who are inside and outside Tamil Nadu, to bear the irreparable loss, at this hour of grief, Siddaramaiah added.
