Six killed in Afghanistan flash floods  

Kabul, July 26 (IANS) Six people, including women and children, were killed in a flash flood in Afghanistan’s Badakhshan province, Xinhua reported, quoting an official on Sunday.

“Heavy rains and flood hit Kofab district on Saturday night. While six people died, more than 120 houses have been badly damaged,” Ahmad Nawed Frotan, spokesman for the provincial government, said.

Authorities were trying to provide necessary assistance to the affected people, he added.
