Smriti Irani dares Congress to send her behind bars

Amethi, Sep 20 (IANS) Reacting to a legal notice served by the Congress, union Human Resource Development Minister Smriti Irani on Sunday challenged the party and its vice president Rahul Gandhi to put her behind bars.

“If the Congress and Rahul Gandhi have the guts, send me behind bars,” Irani said while addressing a rally here.

The BJP leader said the Congress had served her a notice that action would be taken against her if she spoke against the party and the Gandhi family.

Irani said she was “not afraid” and was ready to face 100 such notices for raising the voice of the people.

“I will continue to raise the voice of the people of Amethi even from inside prison,” the minister said.

Earlier, the Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee served a legal notice on the HRD minister for alleging that the Rajiv Gandhi Charitable Trust had indulged in ‘land grab’ in Amethi.

What’s this? Some silly dialogue from a Tamil movie? How disgusting it is to witness our ‘leaders’ speak the language of mentally deranged people? Well, another sign of a third-world country….

    • Mr. Original R. Pai,

What do you expect from a lady who gives contradicting information about her academical qualifications? In the Internet, it is mentioned that she has studied up to XII Standard. At times, she claims she has an University Degree and, at other times, First Year. She is a chameleon and just like the other lady in the Opposition whose educational qualifications was a matter of much debate in the past.

Though, I expect all politicians to be well educated, have sound financial status (so that they are not susceptible to corruption), have impeccable credentials before plunging into politics, failing which, they should be at least honest. Unlike U.S.A., in India there are politicians who are not educated or swamis and godmenm but at least they are honest. In the past few months, we have seen ministers who are liars and they try to cover up their sins by slinging mud at their opponents and not admitting their faults or expressing regrets. Like Congress that had got a chance, BJP too has got a golden chance to rule well and win the confidence of the masses. However, if they indulge in monkey-business, they will be out for a shock. If BJP has any brains, the mere fact that a new kid-on-the-block and novice party like AAP swept 67 seats out of 70m should be an eye-opener. In fact, some people in Delhi say that AAP is doing a better job than the performances of the Congress and BJP, though they may not necessarily be spotless or stainless. In India, the choice is limited to the bunch of crooks..

Mr. Pai, I have always considered Indian democracy to be sham, firstly because it is a Parliamentary-type democracy, when there is no absolute majority, then there is horse-trading and any Independent candidate, who is just Tom, Dick and Harry can offer support and make millions and crores. The beauty of Indian democracy is that a thug, gangster, fraudster, waitress, professor, engineer, charactered accountant, retired general and anyone can be a politician. A man can fight elections from jails.

      • Unlike U.S.A., in India there are politicians who are not educated or swamis and godmenm but at least they are honest. – Lord Nellu

Did the Raymond Allen Davis incident in Pak.. sometime in 2011 .. and the subsequent claim of “diplomatic immunity” remind you of the “godmen & swamis” in India? WAS THAT HONESTY on their part?

Or, do you want to claim diplomatic immunity out here too – like Lord Rampu does? A pure goulash of contradictions – he speaks of Kim K, her N. West hubby (for now), Bill Crosby, Goalmalkara, …(as part of Yumreeki CULTURE)…. mixes ಉಪ್ಪಿಟ್ಟು ವಿತ್ ಶೀರ….posts videos of aadu jeevitham but leaves out kaadu jeevitham of his pradhana sevaka…. and smiles when he … lol

        • Joker Praveena Pinto,
You need to forget about your rejected visa and move on!! No point in showing so much hatred towards doddanna!! I know it is hard to see Pradhaana Sevaka getting so much special treatment when you are still left with ‘bhagna swapna’!!
