SP Annamalai announces Reward to 2 PC’s for avoiding damage of burial ground Dattapeeta

Chikkamagaluru: SP K Annamalai announced a cash reward of Rs 10,000 each to two police constables appreciating their immediate response in avoiding further damage to the burial ground in the disputed site of Sri Guru Dattatreya Bababudan Swamy Dargah at Bababudangiri during the Datta Jayanti programme on Sunday, December 3.

In a press release issued by Chikkamagaluru SP K Annamalai, police constable of Srimangala Police Station in Kodagu district namely Gurudev Pavade Dayagonda and another PC of Sadalaga Police Station in Belagavi district S P Galagali had rushed to the burial ground soon after a group of youth stormed the area. Both of them were assigned with the Datta Jayanti security duty.

Annamalai further said that it was because of their immediate response that further damage was averted. Their courage and timely response deserves appreciation, he said.

The SP also wrote to the SPs of their respective districts appreciating the good work done by the constables and also recommended them to the Director General and Inspector General of Police for a letter of commendation.
