SP Annamalai Donates RS 10K to Bright Student

Udupi: He is tough towards lawbreakers while soft to students of Udupi district. Annamalai K, District Superintendent of Police, honoured Suma Devadiga for scoring 574 marks in Kannada medium, the highest in Byndoor zone. Suma Devadiga is the proud daughter of Lakshman and Gulabi Devadiga residing in Byndoor.


The Akshatha Devadiga murder case had shocked Karnataka state and the student community had intensified their protest, demanding the immediate arrest of the accused. SP Annamalai K convinced the students of nabbing the accused within a week. Acting on his word, he nabbed the accused in one week and this was widely appreciated by the student community and people in the state.


Yakshagana Kalaranga has been providing financial assistance through Vidyaposhak to students. Annamalai K was invited as chief guest to the programme where he had announced that he will honour a student scoring the highest marks in Kannada medium in Byndoor zone with Rs 10,000. Suma Devadiga scored the highest marks (574) in Byndoor region. Yakshagana Kalaranga will be honoring Suma during the presentation of Vidyaposhak.

Annamalai K has also helped Ravi Katapadi who was raising money for providing financial assistance to children whose parents cannot afford to pay for medicines and hospital expenses. Annamalai had then given financial assistance of Rs 10,000.

  1. Oh well…. this is news now, eh? But then, I can’t remember our Origi Rampuji from Yumreeka donating even 5 rs every 10 yrs he visits Murudu.
