SP leader seeks RS berth for Yakub’s wife, party suspends him

Mumbai (PTI): Samajwadi Party leader Mohammed Farooq Ghosi, who sparked a controversy by demanding a Rajya Sabha seat for Mumbai blasts convict Yakub Memon’s wife, was today suspended from the party.

The party action came soon after Ghosi, the Maharashtra Unit Vice President of the party, wrote to the party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav requesting that Memon’s wife Raheen be made a party nominee for the RS seat, triggering sharp reactions from the BJP, Shiv Sena and Congress.

The demand came two days after Memon was hanged in the Nagpur Central Jail. Describing Raheen as helpless, Ghosi said in his letter to the SP chief that “Raheen was in jail for many years. How much she would have suffered…Today I find Raheen helpless and there are many such Muslims in the country who find themselves helpless and for whom we have to fight for. We should make Raheen a Rajya Sabha MP and make her the voice of weak and helpless people.”

“Raheen too has undergone lots of difficulties. Being the wife of a terrorist does not make her a terrorist,” he said.

SP state unit president Abu Azmi said the action against Ghosi was taken for going to the media with his demand without consulting the party president.

“We have suspended him for anti-party activities.Any individual has to consult his party President before making statements in the media. His comments show that he is only interested in staying in the limelight. He will be served a show cause notice and asked to explain his stand,” Azmi told PTI.

Ghosi said he had only written what was in his heart and that he stood by the contents of his letter. He, however, added he still drew inspiration from Mulayam Singh, who says that whatever one has in his heart should be expressed fearlessly.

“In my letter I had written what I felt from my heart. I had also asked Mulayam Singhji to forgive me if I stated something wrong in my letter. Inspite of all this, if the party feels I have done something wrong, they are free to suspend me. But, I stand by my letter. I will surely explain my stand to the leadership if I get a chance,” he said.

SP spokesman Rajendra Chaudhary said the demand should not be seen as view of the party.

Dubbing Ghosi’s statement as “irresponsible in nature”, Shiv Sena urged the media not to blow such things out of proportion.

“I feel there are people who are not politically mature but seek to make political mileage out of any situation. SP has removed Ghosi but they should think on how can a person from their party make a statement that challenges the Supreme Court decision,” party spokesperson Neelam Gorhe said.

Other political parties too slammed Ghosi’s demand saying that the Yakub was hanged on the Supreme Court orders and that the matter should not be politicised.

Congress leader Sachin Sawant said Ghosi’s comments are part of a “tactical agenda” to communalise the issue.

BJP spokesperson Madhav Bhandari dubbed Ghosi’s remarks as “sheer exploitation of vote-bank politics.”

  1. It is deplorable and disgusting that we have political leaders who are mentally incompetent and incapable of differentiating between good and evil, criminal and saint, and patriot and traitor.

  2. Enemies within!! He is not alone. There are hundreds of thousands of them if not millions! They say ‘Jai Hind’ in public and spew anti-national venom at privacy of their own. They refuse to acknowledge how Pakistan is sponsoring anti-Indian activities. They refuse to respect and give credit to majority-sanaathana population for all the freedom and opportunities they enjoy. They oppose our police and military for hunting down on terrorists. They try to protect true enemies like Mumbai attackers by blaming it all on RSS.

Make no mistake – All they want is one big, united Khilafah and put all non-believers to death. The wife of a convicted terrorist is a voice of weak and helpless people? Is this the new reality in a society dominated by 7th century tribal beliefs? What next? Does he want a ‘Bharat Ratna’ for Dawood Ibrahim?

  3. Does he want a ‘Bharat Ratna’ for Dawood Ibrahim?-Original Atheist Mr.pai

Good governance of PM Modi distinguished the great service of Pakistani born L.K.Advani and rewarded with them Bharat Ratna and Padma Vibhushan to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and BJP patriarch LK Advani.

“How can the country’s second highest civilian honour, Padma Vibhushan, be given to Advani who was facing criminal cases (in connection with the Babri masjid demolition),”?

“The same LK Advani who spread destruction in the country with his ‘Rathyatra’… This could probably be the first instance of Padma Vibhushan being given to a person who is facing criminal cases,”

“Have we forgotten December 5 (1992)? The same Atal Bihari Vajpayee who had said ‘we are going to level the ground’ (has been now given the Bharat Ratna),” .

Perhaps this is first time in the history of India prestigious awards being rewarded to the criminals facing charges.

For Yakub menon fault it is wrong to give collective punishment to entire race. This is against the constitution rights and freedom of expression.

Though Yakub Menon may be already put gallows. The real culprits of Mumbai riots are still away from capital punishment due to their political shield. If India needs to be developed in real sense they communalism should be stemmed out from the roots. This is the greatest threat for our internal security of the nation. PM Modi need to show ‘zero tolerance’ against this invisible force.’Go-slow’ against ‘Saffron terror’ will take the nation to stone age.

The lip service on ‘Mann ki bath’ is not enough. It is time to use his ’56 inch manly intelligence to walk the talk.

    • “How can the country’s second highest civilian honour, Padma Vibhushan, be given to Advani who was facing criminal cases (in connection with the Babri masjid demolition),”?

      Mr. Shaikh,

As we all know VERY well, the Babri Masjid was demolished by the ISIS with the help of Boko Haram. The Pakistani ‘rats’ merely helped with the logistics! Ahem. 🙂

Also, our original Yumreeki Rampanna has been the FIRST one to put-up the Chaddi RSS jokers along with the Indian Armed Forces, Israel’anna, BoddaNNA. How can we turn a blind eye to a such an eminent defense analyst’s statements…. cough.. cough…. sneeze….. do excuse my allergy, yaar.. who moonlights as a data entry operator in the DAYTIME and is a PR for the Chaddi balaga in the night. Gasp… cough.. sneeze!

You see, Sriman Advani’ji has been entrusted with the mammoth task of teaching RSS Pracharakas to fight the enemy up-North and NE. God bless the gentle soul – he has and had NO choice. But then, that’s OFFICER’s Choice! So, he has to KEEP WALKING like Johnny Walker and do his stuff! 🙂

Matlab, bhayya – at the drop of a chaddi (so to speak), those 4-5 crore Prachararakas are WILLING to take on the invading hordes from Pak… with their bare hands…. ‘haddi pasli’ incl and talons and nails included too. NOW, that being said, for those blessed RSS forks…. I mean.. folks…IF EVER there is an emergency and you call those RSS pracharakas to attend to some unprovoked firing on the Indo-Pak border, what do you think they will do?

One fellow will be BM or GM in State Bank of India (almost all branches – India-wide). Another fellow the same in Reserve Bank of India. Yet another fellow in HSBC. Some ther Rampa in ICICI. “No time, saar. Banking is a 10 to 5 Job”.

So, CAN you blame that Modi-made Maaargadarshana called Srimaana Advani’ji? I mean.. Maargadarshaka for that? He did his level best! He sent his ELITE troops to demolish the Babri masjid. Now, you can’t blame him for counting bakras for sleep JUST to get sleep these days. Can you? Sigh! 🙁 🙁

So, how can a well-meaning ‘Margadarshaka’ be denied the PV? Huh? The Ka ka …. Kaka….COUNTRY WANTS to know! So go on…

RampaNNA….. you can drone on too….
      only if you don’t mind.

  4. They say ‘Jai Hind’ in public and spew anti-national venom at privacy of their own.-Atheist Mr.Original pai

    Dear readers,

Many believe that Subhash Chandra Bose coined the slogan ‘Jai Hind’ but a book on legends and anecdotes of Hyderabad says it was first used by a man from that city who gave up his engineering studies in Germany to become Netaji’s secretary and interpreter.

Who coined the slogan ‘Jai Hind’?

In his book ” Lengendotes of Hyderabad”, former civil servant Narendra Luther presents a number of interesting articles, based on documentary evidence, interviews and personal experiences, on the city that is much celebrated for its romantic origin and composite culture.

One interesting titbit is on the origin of the slogan ‘Jai Hind’. According to the author, it was coined by “Zain-ul Abideen Hasan”, son of a collector from Hyderabad, who went to Germany to study engineering.

“Netaji wanted to introduce an Indian form of greeting for his army, and for independent India. Various suggestions came. Hasan suggested ‘Hello’. Netaji snubbed him. Then he suggested ‘Jai Hind’. Netaji liked it and it became the official form of greeting in INA and the revolutionary Indians. Later it was adopted as the official slogan of the country,”

Now it is obvious that our Pai opposing ‘Jai Hind’ and coining for “vande mataram” to force on others who carry same fundamentalist thinking of Bankim way of destruction and hatred.

If majority don’t understand the Enemies within!! there will be destruction before any development.

  5. It is deplorable and disgusting that we have political leaders who are mentally incompetent and incapable of differentiating between good and evil, criminal and saint, and patriot and traitor.-Mr.SAS

Sir,If judicatory and equality still prevails in this nation, the perpetrators of 1984,1992 and 2014 all will be seen the samd gallows of Yakub not the presitigious post.

Alas!It is hard to believe that justics still previls in this nation under the new governace and its tools.

  6. “… first time in the history of India prestigious awards being rewarded to the criminals facing charges” – writes Pro-pak Sharia Shaikh referring to Atal Bihari Vaajapayee and LK Advaani.

So, as per our black flag waving Sharia Shaikh, both Vaajapayee and Advaani are ‘criminals’ who don’t deserve ‘Bharat ratna’!! Remember – he was responding to my comment on Dawood Ibrahim. He refuses to answer my question on Dawood Ibrahim but he is very quick to call our ex-PM (vajapayee) a criminal. I guess this is the new India we live in. One can openly call our ex-PM a criminal. However, you can’t refer to a pravaadi by his actual name!!

As I have said many times on this forum, we all owe special thanks to Sharia Shaikh in the same way we owe thanks to Anjem Choudhary. These people are honest enough to show their true agenda and motives in public unlike hundreds of millions of others who will pretend to be secular and open minded in public but spew hatred at their privacy!!! Again, thank you Sharia Shaikh, Zakir Naik, Anjem Choudhary!!! We need you to speak/write more and more so we have a clear idea who we are dealing with!!! smiles…

@ Praveena Pinto – Your incoherent response continues to prove why you are no different than clownish, immature ‘Diggy Raaja’!! Then again, what else can I expect from a visa-rejected, saudi-returned man? smiles…

    • Original R.Paimaam objects openly calling our ex-PM a criminal. What is wrong in it. India is a democracy and there can not be any bar to tell the truth.

If innocent Rajiv Gandhi could be chargesheeted by Vajpayee posthumously, calling him a criminal, and when the case filed by Vajpayee was dismissed by court as false, why didn’t he file an appeal against that decision?

If Indira Gandhi was called by Morarji Government as a criminal and arrest her for an agreement signed by his minister H.N.Bahuguna with French Petroleum Company, and the court dismissed it within 12 hours of filing the case, what is wrong in what Sharia Sheikh said?
