Ex-Brazil striker Adriano back in training

Former Brazil international striker Adriano is reportedly attempting a comeback to professional football after an absence of almost two years, media reports said on Tuesday.

The former Inter Milan star, who will be 34 next month, has been training alone for the past two months, losing more than nine kilos, according to the Uol news portal.

Beset by injuries and personal problems, Adriano has played just 10 matches in the past five years, reports Xinhua news agency.

He was reportedly close to signing with French third tier outfit La Havre last year but a deal fell through at the last minute.

Adriano has 27 goals from 48 international appearances and was the Selecao’s top scorer in their 2004 Copa America and 2005 Confederations Cup triumphs.
