Kundapur : "Enthused by 'Hiriyaredege Namma Nadige' (We move towards our Elders), we chalked out 'Hiriya Sahitigaledege Karnataka Sahitya Parishat" (Karnataka Sahitya Parishat moving towards elderly litterateurs)," said Kannada Sahitya Parishat district president Surendra Adiga. "This programme being so different, so intimate, it is remarkable," he pointed out.

He was speaking  at a programme jointly organized by Journalists' Forum (R), Udupi unit, Kundapra.com and Sri School of Journalism, Moodbidri where A S N Hebbar, senior advocate was felicitated and conferred the annual award in recognition of his long-time service in the field of journalism.

"It is gratifying to see journalists visiting me in my house. More than the honour, the time spent with the scribes is of more consequence," said Hebbar, responding to the felicitation.

"The scribes must get a minimum honorarium to sustain their life.  The gap between the scribes' organization should be reduced," said Forum district president Shekar Ajekar, presiding over the function.

John D'Souza,  Santosh Koni, Udaya Achar, U S Shenoy, Shivananda Karanth, Sudha Hebbar, Soumyashree Ajekar were present on the occasion.  Kundapur.com editor Sunil Bydnoor welcomed the guests. Borgalgudde Manjunath, head of the department of Journalism  MGM College  Udupi proposed a vote of thanks.
